One-of-a-kind art created by Candace Sherman, jewelry designer, cottage bedroom art, fascinator hats, paintings and books on crystal healing.
My paintings are almost all on gallery-wrapped canvases. This means the sides are painted so no frame is necessary which makes them light weight enough to hang easily anywhere they might fit and shine.
In general; each painting is 2” deep and most are 4" in length by 2' wide. Scroll down to see a few smaller paintings.
All paintings are acrylic on canvas, with two coats of a water-based polyurethan
"Heart Whales" is one of a pair that can face one another horizontally, vertically or, you can buy just one. These are acrylic gallery wrapped paintings where each canvas measures 2 x 4'.
This whimsical graphic design came to me one day as I thought of how whales have come full circle. The Harlequin boarder is a way to show how whales have been hunted in the past for their oils and are now rever
"Ferns Go" Is a gallery wrapped canvas where there sides are also painted creating it's own frame. It's also found on the Shop page because it goes so well with all the colors and style of that room.
Light plays off the fern fronds to be more 3-d and is shown here next to a chair to give an element of size. This is a perfect addition, or start to any fine art collection $750- + shipping
This "Coral Fish" painting is full of life! As in any school of fish, this painting has the fish going in different directions as they circle about looking for food.
It's a gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides allowing for no frame and a lighter weight for hanging on any wall. It measures 2 x 4'.
The Harlequin boarder represents the ocean waves in this fine art piece. #2014 $1,200- + shi
"Unihorse" is an acrylic painting of a seahorse with open and closed harlequin boarders.
Seahorses remind me of Unicorns. No reason, they just do. So, I decided to paint one as a combination of both. Though it's difficult to see in this photo, there is a very 3-d quality due to the paint color combinations I used.
It's a gallery wrapped canvas that measures 2 x 4' and is $900 + shipping
"White Peacocks" is acrylic painting on canvas measuring 16 x 20".
Go to the shop page and see much larger Blue Peacocks painted in the same style on the bureau. Peacocks are beautiful creatures, and if you're lucky enough to see a white one, Wow! $225- + shipping
"Lily" is an acrylic painting measuring 20.5x16.5" including the gold accented wood-slat frame.
This is a bit like a Georgia O'Keeffe style in the sense that the center of the flower is more important than boundaries. With the covered Harlequin boarder I demonstrate that you can overcome boundaries if you try by simply growing from the inside out and it would compliment any fine art collection.
"Easter Fish" is a wonderful acrylic painting that measures 16 x 20". All four sides are painted so there is no need for a frame unless you would like one. #30A is $165- US + postage
"Blue Climber" combines blue roses with blue butterflies on a bright chartreuse green background. The roses are climbing up a white fence, or balustrade with gold vines.
Some feel that when butterflies appear it means a lost loved one is visiting. Whatever you think about blue butterflies, when they appear it is magical!
It is acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas with painted outer edges and finished
"Pillow Fight" is an acrylic painting.
The Harlequin style boarder reminds us of the boundaries we create, or maybe need to, in life. While the feathers in flight can be a reminder to not take life so seriously!
Having spent a life collecting feathers I felt this was a perfect way to pass along my admiration for such wondrous creations of nature.
This painting is a 2 x 4' gallery wrapped canvas and
"Garden Delight" is an acrylic painting comprised of dragonflies, lady bugs and a harlequin boarder on a 2 x 4' gallery wrapped canvas.
Dragonflies and lady bugs are often thought to be part of the Fairy world. Here they are magically always in flight happily sailing through life. The harlequin boarder is trying to contain them, but cannot.
Often in life we limit ourselves by placing boarders arou
"Dancing Starfish" is a 2x4' acrylic painting on gallery-wrapped canvas. There are lots of color dots and a Harlequin boarder.
We need and build boarders in our daily lives. If done properly boarders create a realm for emotional safety and cause for a good dance!
On all of my acrylic paintings I place two coats of water base polyurethane for easy wipe downs. This is set up to be hung either vertic
